Why I’ve launched A Highland Blend to work with Caithness businesses

In 2017 I flitted north from Inverness to Wick in Caithness, and in 2018 I rebranded my blog to A Highland Blend. Since living in Caithness, I’ve got to know the locals and their businesses, got involved with the local community, and started to explore this stunning region, which sits right on the NC500. I’ve enjoyed working with local businesses to promote them and the local area.

Caithness has so much to offer in terms of artisan goods, quality accommodation and places to visit, but after 3 years here my observation is that businesses often don’t have the time or expertise to promote themselves consistently on social media. And, whether you like it or not, this whole pandemic situation means that businesses are going to have to rely more on online promotion to get themselves known and remembered, whether with a local or visitor audience.

Here’s where I come in! Over the last few months, I’ve been quietly working away on getting A Highland Blend set up as a business to offer bespoke digital management services, photography and other creative services to businesses in the North Highlands. Using my admin and project management skillset gained from working with UHI for the last 7 years, I’m also available for virtual assistant tasks as required.

If you're here for an insider's guide to the tourist spots in the north Highlands, I'll still be sharing local guides - check out my blog.

Here on A Highland Blend, my website space is available for advertising features for local businesses. You might want to promote your accommodation to visitors, or share new products or services. Or, perhaps you want to share a recipe from your café or restaurant when you launch a new menu. These are just some of the ways in which A Highland Blend can promote your business, and I can create a unique angle to showcase your products or place. This service can be teamed up with accompanying social media or photography sessions if needed.

If you are interested in this, or any of the business services I now offer, you can contact me to arrange a free 30-minute Skype consultation so I can understand the needs of your business and suggest bespoke services that I can offer to reach your audience. I know many Caithness businesses are run by hardworking, passionate individuals who don’t have a lot of extra time, confidence or resources to do social media or other online promotion. However, my solutions will be affordable and tailored to the needs of your business.
